Take a closer look at some of the elements that go into residential Orange County wine cellars like this one!
Let’s tour a timeless residential wine room in a lovely Mission Viejo, Orange County home built by our expert team at Custom Wine Cellar!
Wooden Wine Racking System that Stands the Test of Time
Wooden wine racks are always an excellent choice for your residential wine cellar. They’ve been around for ages, and many still prefer them over modern metal wine racks because they look classy and sophisticated.
Custom wood wine racks are versatile and can fit into any wine cellar, whether modern, traditional, or a mix of both. They’re a great way to show off your wine collection in style.
One of our clients, who loves wine and spirits, wanted to showcase some of his favorite bottles, so we designed and installed LED lighting panels in the wine room. These panels have lighting that makes the bottles look even more impressive by creating a subtle glow.
The Perfect Barolo Door for Residential Wine Rooms
The wine cellar has a Barolo door with an arched top and beveled glass insert that looks elegant and classy. The wooden components of the door are made from laminated veneer lumber from knotty Alder wood. This Alder wood was specially treated and sealed to minimize air gaps.
The knotty Alder wood and the arched top of the Barolo door perfectly match the dominant wooden elements and arches in the client’s home. The Barolo door also has an automatic door bottom that seals the wine room when you close it, keeping everything safe and well-maintained.
The Features of this Stylish Wooden Wine Racks
The wine cellar has some exceptional features that make it stand out. The racking system is beautifully crafted with knotty Alder wood and a rustic lacquer finish. The reveal racks and horizontal display racks are equipped with LED lighting, which looks stylish and helps the wine labels read easily.
Furthermore, the custom wine racks in Mission Viejo are designed with a cork-forward bottle orientation, which maximizes bottle capacity and saves space. The double-deep or triple-deep configurations can hold a surprisingly large number of bottles, making it a popular choice for people with limited space.
In the center of the wine cellar is a custom-made wooden arch constructed with knotty Alder wood and a lacquer finish. This area is ideal for decanting wine or displaying decorative pieces, adding a touch of elegance to the cellar.
Moreover, the wine cellar has a couple of diamond bins below the arch, each capable of storing up to 12 bottles. A convenient drawer above them provides ample space to store other items inside the wine room.
Above the arch is a top shelf with built-in lighting, making it an excellent space to showcase rare wines or liquors. It gives a more welcoming approach to the owners and guests who want to enjoy their wine-drinking at home.
A Heavy-Duty Cooling System for Compact-Sized Residential Wine Rooms
The wine cellar boasts a remarkable feature – a cooling system that operates silently without being visible. The team behind the project installed a US Cellars System HS unit and cleverly ducted it into the attic while the condensing unit was placed outside the garden.
As a result, the mechanical parts of the cooling unit remain hidden, giving you a picturesque view of your wine cellar. The ducting system also eliminates any noise from the wine cellar cooling unit, ensuring a peaceful environment for your wine to age perfectly.
This ingenious setup not only maintains the ideal climate for your wine but also enhances the overall aesthetic of the wine cellar.
