Elegant Metal Wine Racks for a California Modern Wine Display

To ensure your modern wine cellar is up to date with the latest trends, it may be beneficial to consider using sophisticated metal wine racks. These racks offer a sleek and stylish design that can add to the overall aesthetic of your cellar and keep your collection organized.

Custom Wine Cellar, led by Steve Pantalemon, has recently completed the construction of a modern home wine cellar in a beautiful California home. The cellar boasts modern wine racking made of metal rods with wooden accents, an industrial strength split system cooling unit from US Cellar Systems, and adjustable LED lighting.

Read along as we walk through this metal wine rack design for a modern California wine cellar!

Glass Wine Cellar Door That Perfectly Matched the Metal Wine Racks

Our client had a specific vision in mind when she approached us with her plan to build a modern wine cellar under her stairs. She wanted to maximize the number of wine bottles she could store in the custom wine cellar while prioritizing its aesthetic appeal.

Our Custom Wine Cellar team installed a glass wine cellar door to achieve the desired look. We used 1/2-inch frameless tempered glass panels for the door and opted for a pivot hinge instead of a standard hinge. The pivot hinge is self-closing and provides better sealing power than other hinges, making it work more efficiently.

As a result, the wine cellar door looks amazing and functions exceptionally well. Our team is proud to have met and exceeded the client’s expectations. If you want to create a wine cellar, don’t hesitate to contact us. We can help you create a beautiful and efficient space for your wine collection.

Innovative Racking System: Metal Wine Racks with a Touch of Alder Wood

Trendy Metal Wine Cellar Designs – Creative Wine Racking!

The wine-racking system in this glass-door wine cellar is impressive. The racking system has a contemporary and innovative design that gives the impression of being made entirely of metal from a distance.

However, the black-toned part of the cellar connecting each section is made of Alder wood. Alder wood is a versatile building material that can mimic metal with the right stain. In this project, the Alder wood looks modern and metallic due to its dark finish.

The metallic parts of the racking system are made of ½ inch stainless steel rod, which has a glossy finish. This adds sophistication and elegance to the stunning display of wine bottles.

Under the Stairs Wine Cellars and its Modern Racking System

This metal wine racking system is the perfect solution for any wine enthusiast who wants to impress their guests while keeping their wine collection organized. Most of the system has horizontal racks that can hold up to 3 bottles deep, which is ideal for this under-the-stairs wine cellar.

While you could choose to have four or 5-bottle deep racks, the 3-bottle deep racks provide the perfect balance of storage space and accessibility, ensuring you can easily access your wine collection whenever you want.

The horizontal racks are separated by vertical reveal rows, highlighted by a channel of LED strip lighting, creating a stunning visual effect and highlighting the beautiful wine bottle labels stored there.

The LED lighting is also an efficient and effective way to add mood to your modern under-the-stairs wine cellar, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that your guests will love.

There is ample space for storing cases at the bottom of the wine racking system. At the same time, in the center of the cellar is a small area with a white acrylic LED back panel perfect for decanting wines or displaying extra wine or alcohol bottles.

The small square shelves at each end of the cellar are perfect for storing large format bottles like magnums, while the area directly below the stairs provides even more storage space for cases and bottles.

Minimalist Cooling System Installed for the Glass Wine Cellar Door

The team has successfully installed a split-type cooling unit RM4600 from US Cellar Systems. Despite the bulky size, the only visible part of the cooling unit is the vent from the soffit in the wine cellar. Our team ingeniously placed the evaporating unit inside the soffit above the ceiling and the condensing unit outside the wine room.

Moreover, we have incorporated a modern feature to ensure minimal noise from the cooling unit. Rest assured, we have provided top-notch service and installation for this wine cellar project.

How the Team Made Cooling Inside the Wine Cellar Efficient

The team did an excellent job installing the necessary cooling lines and applying a 3 ½ inch spray foam to prevent the formation of water droplets inside the wine cellar wall cavity. They also took the necessary precautions to ensure that the humidity in the wine cellar remains stable, which is crucial in maintaining the high quality of the wines.

The additional seals installed for the wine cellar door, along with the pivot hinge’s sealing ability, will protect the cellar from any fluctuations in temperature and humidity outside. This ensures that the wines can age gracefully without any external factors affecting their quality.

The team’s decision to place the significant cooling components outside of the wine cellar and into the soffit is commendable. This step significantly helps maintain the wine room’s optimal temperature and humidity levels. By moving the main motor away from the wine cellar, the heat released from the motor is also avoided inside the wine cellar, which is an essential factor in ensuring that the wines are stored under the best possible conditions.

So pleased with this company that has helped making my dingy basement into what makes me feel I am on a wine tour in Napa every time I go into my cellar. A wine cellar that exceeded my expectations in every way. It's not just a storage space; it's a sanctuary for wine lovers. The lighting, shelving, and overall design create an ambiance that elevates the entire wine experience. I find myself spending more time in my wine cellar than I ever imagined

Steve Pantalemon from Custom Wine Cellar was great to work with. He spent a lot of time with our designer trying to come up with the best design. There were many different options but we ended up choosing the cable system with light panels, oak wood cabinets below. Glass was 14 feet high fixed panels on one side and doors on the other side.
